AFL Queensland is the state body that is responsible for the growth and development of Australian Football throughout Queensland. AFLQ has driven many programs, including AusKick, Schools Cup, Community Club and School Intro Program, and proudly supports over 265,000 young participants.
AFL Queensland partnered with iNSPIRE with a key goal in mind – provide our unique wellbeing platform to as many young AFL players possible. iNSPIRE attended club and school meet-ups, to chat with players about the importance of wellbeing. At competitions, the iNSPIRE crew set up a Wellness Tent, where the players can come pre- or post-game, and hydrate, stretch, meditate, and engage in various Workshop sessions the team runs throughout the day – all for the wellbeing of the players. Parents are also encouraged to come along and chat with us about wellbeing on and off the field.
Over time, AFLQ hopes to see thousands of their athletes using the platform and engaging with the educational information available on the app. As thousands of users track their wellness on the app, anonymous data reports are sent to AFLQ – highlighting trends across the state. AFL Queensland plans to use these yearly reports to identify areas needing attention and assist with the formulation of their future strategic plans.
AFLQ is a great example of an organisation using iNSPIRE’s data capture to advise decision-making across the board and provide the community with initiatives that drive the wellbeing of players. iNSPIRE hopes to partner with many state sporting organisations to bring a wellness solution to thousands of athletes – for as little as $4 per month.
